Recognising God's voice

I am reminded of the importance of recognizing God's voice and the ability to hear His voice gets more difficult when we are hearing so many voices each day..
These are some of the insights I read and am reflecting about as I read the book : Choosing God's Best
1) God's voice often conflicts with the world's reasoning.
God may ask us to do something that seem illogical to our rational minds. There could be exceptions.
2) God's voice will clash with out fleshy nature.
God will not tell us to do something that gratifies the desires of our flesh.
3) God's voice considers the effects of other people.
God has our best interests in mind and also the good of all concerned.
4) God's voice is patient, not rushed.
How many times have we tried to rush God when we seek Him. I am guilty of this many times. Sometimes, we may need to hear from Him quickly but He will never tell us to rush in blindly in something.
5) God's voice considers the consequences.
God has our future in mind. He will cause each of us to ask : " If i make this decision, what will happen to my family, my job and my walk with God etc."
6) God's voice is not discerned by unbelievers.
We should go to a Godly believer to seek counsel.
7) God's voice will bring peace to our spirits.
When God speaks, one of the most clear signs is a sense of calmness in the spirit. It may not be tranquil at first but the longer we listen, the quieter and more peaceful our spirits become. We will not have God's peace when we are disobedient to Him. We can believe in our minds but we will not be able to believe with our spirit and exercise FAITH!
